Hangang Bridge

The Hangang Bridge literally Han River bridge, crosses the Han River
in South Korea
and connects the districts of Yongsan-gu
and Dongjak-gu
. The first bridge
was completed on October, 1917. It was the first bridge to be built on the Han River. But because of the flood in July, 1925 the bridge was damaged. So in October, 1935 the 2nd bridge was constructed with other improvements to the first. During the Korean War
, the bridge was bombed by South Korean troops. It wasn't until 1954 that the bridge was fully restored. In 1981 additional lanes were added, and the bridge was renamed Hangang Bridge.
