Company history

• Halcyon was founded in 1994 by software engineers at Systemware Innovation Corporation (SWI). Halcyon was created from the real-world experience of SWI engineers, who recognized the need for proactive systems monitoring to ensure reliability and availability of mission critical systems and applications.

• In 1996, Halcyon entered into an agreement with Sun Microsystems to co-develop Sun Enterprise SyMON 2.0 which is based on Halcyon's PrimeAlert technology. The product was later renamed to Sun Management Center

• Today, Halcyon is expanding its coverage to include more than just performance monitoring through the use of its new technology branded Neuron. This includes common ITIL related components such as asset management, change and configuration management, compliance, capacity planning, and virtualization management.
