The Movement pushed candidates in all the elections for Kuwait's National Assembly starting from 1992. However, it suffered a big setback in the elections of 2003 which resulted in only two seats of the 50-seat Parliament out of 15 candidates.

This defeat forced Hadas to restructure its internal system to allow more bottom-level members to be involved in electing the leadership, which allowed a younger generation of activists in the Students' Union of the Eighties to take the lead.

In the election of 2006, Hadas succeeded in becoming one of the largest blocs in the Assembly with six members. In the election of 2008, however, this number was decreased to only three: Jamaan Al-Harbash
