HVAC Excellence is a not for profit
organization that has been serving the Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning and Refrigeration HVAC-R
industry since 1994. Their stated mission is to improve competency through validation of the technical education
process.
HVACR equipment is only as good as the quality of the installation. Many Years ago, mechanical devices functioned in such a way that an HVACR technician could be clever and figure out the problem. With energy costs rising, the HVACR industry sought to maximize the performance efficiency of our equipment, transforming the HVACR industry into the digital age of sealed systems
. Being clever is no longer good enough. Proper technician training is the method by which to meet the challenges of the modern HVACR industry.
Through third party programmatic accreditation, HVAC Excellence reviews the mission of the program, administrative responsibilities, finance and funds, student services, instruction design and program elements, physical facilities, equipment and tools, and cooperative training. This process provides the students confidence in the HVACR program, giving employers benefit by the assurance that the graduates are properly trained, increased enrollment, created goals for self improvement, increased budget funding, aide them in the acceptability of transfer credits, and it involved the faculty in the evaluation process.
HVAC Educator Certification is a program used to validate mastery in the subject matter needed to teach the competencies required by students for success as technicians in an ever changing industry. In the HVACR industry, teachers validate their competency through a series of educator credentialing exams call Certified Master HVACR Educator #CMHE).
The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act requires documentation of a third part assessment for career and technical programs receiving Perkins funds. HVAC Excellence provides student outcome assessments validates that HVACR graduates are prepared to enter the HVACR industry and aide in compliance with the Perkins Act.
Persons with several years of documented experience may validate their competency through professional written and hands on certifications.
