In 1956 he was a crew member of the Swedish boat which won the silver medal in the coxed fours event. He was also part of the Swedish boat which finished fourth in the eights competition.

Fours years later he and his partner Lennart Hansson were eliminated in the repechage of the coxed pairs event and in the first round of the coxless pairs competition.
