 but unfortunately it has to stop publishing in 1986 after some major changes in management.

All the former staff of the defunct Sin Pin Daily are desperate to restart the newspaper publishing. Finally in December 1987, Guang Ming Daily was born after obtaining the publishing permit with the help from Dato' Seri Dr. Lim Keng Yaik

In 1992, the Rimbunan Hijau Group bought over Guang Ming Daily and thus making it the sister company with Sin Chew Daily.
