Like his first Greatest Hits
volume, it compiles a dozen hit songs from his previous albums and adds four new recordings: the romantic duet "Easy For Me To Say" (his second duet with wife Lisa Hartman Black), "Little Pearl and Lily's Lullaby" (a song for their then-newborn daughter), the country-rocker "Money or Love", and a newly recorded "Blues Version" of "Put Yourself in My Shoes".
On compiling the record, Black said: "When I was going through my songs, I was just really proud and excited. I think the thing I'm proudest of is that I've kept up the pace as a songwriter. As an artist, my proudest accomplishment is that I've never had to go looking for material."
