Tanya Tucker
Tanya Denise Tucker is a female American country music artist who had her first hit, "Delta Dawn", in 1972 at the age of 13...

's old hits, as might be perceived at first glance, but rather Capitol Records' newly re-recorded versions of Tucker's hits for her former Columbia and MCA labels, which still owned the original versions. They are done mostly in the same style as the originals, and an unfamiliar ear might be led into believing they were the originals. The recordings sound quality is improved somewhat over the older versions, however, as it was recorded digitally. Since these songs were recorded originally when Tanya was a teen/young adult, there is a difference in her voice, as it grew deeper as she matured into adulthood. The song "Texas (When I Die)" has a lyric change: in the lines "I'd ride through all of hell and half of Texas/Just to hear Willie Nelson sing a country song," Willie's name is substituted with Merle Haggard.

During this time, Capitol had also signed other artists that had recorded for other labels in the past (including Ronnie Milsap and Eddie Rabbitt), and they also produced albums of re-recorded material for the label.
