Gorpils has been in production since 1993 and contains two active ingredients, namely Amylmetacresol
Amylmetacresol

These active ingredients are antiseptics that have the ability to act on the bacteria associated with mouth and throat infections. Because of the antibacterial properties, Gorpils throat lozenges can double as breath fresheners, eliminating odor-causing bacteria in the mouth. However, research has shown the presence of an antibacterial agent does not reduce the length or severity of an infection.
Over the years the integrity of Gorpils formulation has been maintained, simply because its effectiveness is still the same as when it was first introduced in 1993.

Developments

In the year 2005 Gepach International developed line extensions which provide the consumers with more treatment options for cough and sore throats. Keeping up with the demand for herbal products, Gepach International introduced Gorpils Herbal Cough Lozenges, which contains herbs like glycyrrhiza glabra, zingiber offcinale

Dosage

The recommended dosage is one lozenge every 2–3 hours for adults. Maximum lozenges : 8 per day.
