The album covers of some editions of the Gold career retrospective declared that these were the 'original masters' which was a truth with modification since producer Farian not only had edited most of the tracks but also had overdubbed them with synthesized 1990s percussion such as disco hi-hats, sampled tambourines and handclaps. These mixes have since been credited as the original 1970s versions on most Boney M. hit collections issued in the 1990s and 2000s, including 2006's The Magic of Boney M.
