Gogolfest

GOGOLFEST is an annual Ukrainian multidisciplinary international festival of contemporary art, most of the events of which took place in Kyiv at the Museum Artistic Arsenal before 2010. The festival programme consists of five areas: theater, music, film, literature and visual art.

History

GOGOLFEST founded in 2007 on the private initiative of director and head of the "Dakh" Center for Contemporary Art, Vladislav Troitsky. The co-founder of the Festival and Chairman of the GOGOLFEST Board of Trustees is Evgeni Utkin

1 million viewers expected (for the televised opening) In May, the festival also took place in Perm. In Kiev, for the first time, the Festival will be held at a location other than the "Artistic Arsenal".

GOGOLFEST 2010

In 2010, the festival is scheduled for 4–12 September. For the first time in its history, the Festival leaves the "Artistic Arsenal" for Kyiv's Dovzhenko Film Studios.

The plan for this year's Festival is to kick off events with a spectacular performance at Independence Square on September 4 of "Multiverse", a joint project of Ukraine's "Dakh" Theatre and the Spanish theatre "La Fura Dels Baus

The Festival will offer a theatre programme (in addition to the Ukrainian theatre showcase), music, visual arts, literature and film programmes, as well as master classes given by invited artists.
