History

The school was established on 11 November 2001. It was the first Indian international school in Singapore and was known as the Indian Central School (ICS). In 2004 the school became part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

 group and changed its name to Bhavan's Indian International School (BIIS). In 2006, the name school adopted its present name to reflect its expansion outside Singapore. GIIS now also has 21 campuses in Singapore

Global Indian Foundation

The Global Indian International Schools are established by Singapore based non-profit foundation, the Global Indian Foundation (GIF). Providing world class education to Indians and global citizens in different countries, GIF, is led and advised by inter-nationally acclaimed and eminent leaders. GIF encompasses GIIS schools offering K-12 or Kindergarten to Grade 12 education, Global Indian Cultural Centres (GICC) to promote and preserve Indian culture and Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Values and Thoughts (MGCVT).
