Ghulam Haider Hamidi was mayor of Kandahar
in Afghanistan. Hamidi moved to Pakistan and spent a brief time in this US, he returned to Afghanistan after the Taliban regime was overthrown. He was killed in a suicide bombing on 27 July 2011.
