Plot summary

The Siberians who have made a huge market in the oil business are planning on a reform to gain recognition as a nation and probably gain independence from the Russian Federation. In response the Russian military eliminates vital oil business leaders to maintain control over the oil and the Siberian economy. Recognizing that this control may soon become unstable, they turn to an alternative—the rich oil fields of Falkland Islands. They persuade the Argentinians to co-ordinate a military invasion of the islands citing the Argentinian sovereignty over them. This would also serve as a guise for a Russian oil rig to be developed on the island. The Russians also send a submarine called the Viper to assist the Argentinians.

Britain which holds governance over the Falklands begins to suspect the invasion. The British navy is sent by their prime minister to prevent the invasion and protect the Brits living in Falklands. Unlike the previous war over the islands which the British had won, the Argentinians destroy the advancing British navy and claim the islands for their own. However, an SAS special operations team is stranded on the island and a massive manhunt is on to find and terminate them.

Admiral Arnold Morgan, the former National Security Advisor to the US President takes the helm in putting together a crack team of Navy Seals led by Commander Rick Hunter on a mission to extract the SAS team and damage Argentinian Air Force assets. Through this, he hopes that the Argentinians will release control of the ExxonMobil oil rig on the island.

The SEAL team strategically takes out Argentinian fighters and destroys runways to create havoc and frustration in the Argentinian command. They also extract the SAS team.

On understanding the objectives of the American strike, the Argentinian government decides to release the ExxonMobil officials and return control of the oil rig to the Americans and the British. They also call for a complete hand over of the governance over the islands from the British. The final chapter comes to an end when the Russian submarine Viper is sunk by a US Hunter-Killer submarine in deep waters.
