Despite early rumors that Moldova would withdraw due to lack of financial support, the broadcaster, TRM, confirmed the Moldovan entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Geta Burlacu and the song "A Century of Love" has won the right to represent the nation....

 with the song "A Century Of Love" but failed to get past the semi-finals. This, incidentally, was the first time that Moldova missed a Eurovision final since it joined it in 2005.

Burlacu has studied at music college as a violinist and at the Moldovian conservatory as a jazz singer. She has since performed solo and with the bands "Univox Vocal Band", "Acid Grape" and "Right Horns". In 2006, she was one of the finalists in the Moldovan Eurovision preselection, sharing first place in the first stage with Alexa and Sergiu Kuzenkoff. She eventually won the right to represent Moldova with the song "A Century Of Love".
