"Get Lucky" continued Stewart's commercial success, particularly in Europe. In the UK, the previous single "Say It Again" peaked at #7. "Get Lucky" peaked at #13 for a total of nine weeks.

The single's success in Europe continued Stewart's commercial success, with the single peaking at both #6 in Germany and Switzerland as well as #14 in the Netherlands. This would be Stewart's last to 40 hit in Germany although the 1989 single "Is It Really Love?

A promotional video was created for the single whilst Stewart performed the song on popular UK music show Top of the Pops.

On March 13, 1988, A UK film crew visited Stewart at his home in Hollywood. The crew were shown around Stewart's house and later able to film behind the scenes of the "Get Lucky" video.
The music video was directed by Dieter 'Dee' Trattmann.
