Gerard Whateley is a Melbourne based sports commentator, writer for ABC Radio Grandstand
and as of July 2010 is now the host of the ABC

During Whateley's started his media career at the Herald Sun. He spent six years with the Herald Sun

along with covering football as a "second job" for the Sunday Herald Sun.

full time in September 2004 to fulfil a childhood dream of broadcasting a wide variety of sports. He calls tennis, Australian rules football, soccer and horse racing.
