to the Fifty-fifth
and to the eight succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1897-March 3, 1915).

He served as chairman of the State Democratic convention which called the constitutional convention in 1901.
He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1920.
He died in Rome, Georgia
