 (STEP) in 1991 and was Chairman for three years, after which he was elected its first worldwide President. STEP was founded with the express aim of uniting together all of the practitioners in the trust and estate field and also to cut across the long established professional boundaries. STEP is now represented in 33 countries around the World and whose full members are the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field of trusts and estates.

For many years he was a Senior Trust Manager with Chartered Accountants Deloitte Haskins + Sells (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), a co-author of their Trust Manual, a member of their National Trust Committee and of their Trust Quality Control Inspectorate.

In 1991, Tasker set up his own practice, George Tasker Inheritance as a Registered Trust Practitioner and Inheritance Consultant drawing on his 40 years experience to provide technical support to firms of accountants, solicitors and independent financial advisers.

He has been lecturing for over 30 years on legal subjects to many of the main professional bodies including Chartered and Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Taxation, The Institute of Bankers

 and the Life Assurance and Securities Institutes. He is accredited by the Law Society

as an approved lecturer to their qualified members as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Schemes.

Additionally, Tasker is an occasional speaker on local radio, a writer in the business press and co-author of various technical publications including the STEP booklet "Why make a trust?"

He has been married for over 40 years and has three grown up children and four grandchildren.

Tasker retired in early 2007 and resigned as President of STEP in late 2006, at which time STEP awarded George the official title of "Founder".
