Gauravaddo

Gauravaddo is the most southernly ward (vaddo) of Calangute
, Goa, India. It borders Calangute on the north by Candolim, the paddy fields and the Calangute Hill on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. It is divided into two parts by the main road from Calangute to Sinquerim that passes throughout the village.
Some of the prominent spots along the main road are St. Anthony's Chapel, Toddledom, the huge pond (which is now covered and the corporation bank which stands over it), Blue Cottage, Xetticho Posro, Mixenkar House, Tarcars ice factory, Piedade Copel and finally the temple at Ximer.
Along the beach the prominent landmarks are the hotel Goan Heritage and the waterway that empties into the sea during the rains from the Gauravaddo west pond. The most important spot is the huge white cross which cannot be missed. Standing along the seashore facing the sea is the Sinquerim Hill in the north 5 km away with the most important and dependable lighthouse in Goa on the top. Murmugao Harbour is a port off the shore.
