Barnes was a member of the 1962 NFL Champion Green Bay Packers seeing action in 13 games with no receptions. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys in 1963, the Chicago Bears in 1964, and the Atlanta Falcons in 1966 and 1967. He played in 60 career games with 41 receptions for 583 yards receiving. He scored his two career touchdowns with Atlanta.
