Sports Program

Garden School offers a comprehensive sports program, fielding a total of 11 teams across the three seasons. The school offers volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and tennis. The teams play in the Big Apple Division of the Independent Schools Athletic League.

Facilities

The Garden School has a gym, a field, an early childhood playground, a music/dance studio, an art studio, a computer lab, an infirmary, a main office, an inground outdoor swimming pool, and a dining room.

Population

The school's size varies based on enrollment. Currently, the total enrollment is between 250-275 students in Nursery through Grade 12. Usually the grade sizes will range from around 20-30. Most academic classes have 3-14 students, with additional teachers in Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

Development Plan

Like all independent schools, Garden School is engaged in on-going fundraising efforts. Over the past months, discussions have been held which will likely lead to the sale of a small fraction of the school's field. The anticipated infusion of capital will enable the school to make major changes to improve the experiences of the entire Garden School community.

The school also hosts a variety of annual events, such as a Walk-a-Thon and Gala each spring which have raised money for "smart boards" and other new technologies for the classrooms and improvement to the gym. The school has been making great progress.
