The Garcia Wilderness is a 14100 acres (57.1 km²) wilderness area within the Los Padres National Forest
in Central California
, San Luis Obispo County. It is one of several areas set aside by the United States Congress
in 1992 with passage of the Los Padres Condor Range and River Protection Act (Public Law 102-301). Named for the mountain it protects, the east-west ridge of Garcia Mountain of the San Luis Obispo Ranges, the area's vegetation includes chapparal and grasslands to oak forests. The main stream drainages are the Salinas River
and the Santa Maria. Elevation of Garcia Mountain is 3,146 feet. There are two designated campgrounds and three hiking trails, the longest being the 11 miles (17.7 km) Caldwell Mesa Trail.
