Gandhi (Costa Rica)

Gandhi is a Costa Rican rock band formed by Luis Montalbert-Smith
(lead vocals, keys, songwriting), Federico Miranda
(lead guitar), Abel Guier
(bass) and Massimo Hernández (drums). Inspired by British groups such as Pink Floyd, Queen, and The Beatles, and Latin American bands Soda Stereo and Caifanes. They have released four albums: El Jardín del Corazón
(1997), Páginas Perdidas
(2000), BIOS
(2002), Ciclos (2004), Vol 1. (2007), and Arigato No! (2009).
They are known for their campaign against armed and domestic violence, entitled "ARMAS, NO GRACIAS," (Weapons, No thank you) which is demonstrated in the theme of one of their latest singles "Sr. Caballero". Other well-known hits are "El Invisible", "Quisieras", "Seca Reja Roja" and "En Dibujos Animados".
