Gabriel of Komana has been archbishop
of Western Europe of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of the Eastern Orthodox church
since 2003. He was born in 13 June 1946 by Grand in Belgium in a catholic flamand family. He studied philosophy and theology until 1974, afterwards obtain his diploma at the section of morale and religious studies at the catholic university of Louvain. He met orthodoxy at the parish o St. Andrew the great around January 1974.
At 5 October 1975 he was ordained Dean
from Archbishop Georg (Tarassoff) at the cathedral St. Alexander-Nevsky in Paris. He was ordained priest
(celibate) from Archbishop George in 27 June 1976 at the same cathedral.
He was active at the foundation of the orthodox communities of Deventer, Breda and Anvers. At 9 March 1985 he was raised to the rank of Archpriest
