The Fronte Nuovo delle Arti was an Italian artistic movement that was active in Venice

The Fronte was founded in September-October 1946 under the name Nuova Secessione Artistica Italiana (New Italian Artistic Secession) and published on 1 October 1946 in Venice

After an intense internal debate about abstraction

, the Fronte moved to its dissolution. First Armando Pizzinato
and then Renato Guttuso
rejected abstractionism
and announced their decision to quit the Fronte. Then the Fronte was dissolved on 3 September 1950 in Venice.
