Frelighsburg is a beautiful village situated around Mt. Pinnacle. Many small businesses are rooted in this small area, including "Les Sucreries de L'Erable"; a small resto/bakery that is also situated in Montreal and other small towns. The village is peaceful all around and is one of the many historic sites in the Eastern Townships

Toponymy

One of the first pioneers, Abram or Abraham Freligh, from Clinton (New York), gave his name to the municipality. He was running a sawmill for many years. Frelighsburg had other names in the past like Conroy's Mills, another mill owner and Slab City because of the great quantities of sawdust
