Frederick "Fred" Smith (26 November 1898–1971) was an English footballer who played at full back for Bury
in the 1920s and 1930s.
Smith joined Bury in 1921 and was a regular member of the side which gained promotion to the First Division
in 1924. Following promotion however, Smith lost his place to Tom Adamson
and over the next eight seasons rarely made more than ten appearances a season.
