Fort Zumwalt West High School, the third high school established in the Fort Zumwalt School District

. First opened for the 1998–1999 school year, the school now has an approximate enrollment of 2,282 students. The average daily attendance rate is nearly 97%. The building was expanded in the early 2000s. There used to be a group of trailor parks called Trailorville, but were removed in the 2011-2012 year. They built a new wing to replace it.
The district's first high school, now known as Fort Zumwalt North High School
, was established in 1960. The second high school to be established in the district was South High

At the beginning of the 2007 school year, Fort Zumwalt East High School
was opened to freshman and sophomore students. This helped relieve North and South High of excess students, and is expected to eventually balance the district's high schools enrollment.
With a little more than 100 teachers, around 63% have a master's degree or higher, and more than 96% have regular teaching certificates. They average 9.3 years of teaching experience. There is an average of 25 students per classroom.
