. The school's emphasis on arts includes an annual musical, boys' and girls' choir, theatre, instrumental, a variety of art classes, and dance. It is also the home of The Texas Boys Choir and The Singing girls of Texas.

It has been the starting ground for many successful artists. Including those that have been seen on Broadway and on the silver screen. However it is not only for the arts, but also has an exemplary educational program. Many students receive college scholarships, and 50% of the average senior class receives at least three acceptance letters into schools all over the country. And have nearly a 40% chance of getting into the college they applied for. Not only is the school very talented, but they have a very close community. Every one knows everyone. The teachers not only keep them disciplined but can be very gentle in necessary situations as well. Every person that enters the school considers themselves lucky, and take full advantage of opportunities they have been given. Not only has it given the world great artists but excellent minds that have been accepted into schools like Harvard, Stanford, University of Texas, and even the Peabody Institute.
