Description
The application provides live information relating to Formula One World Championship races (Grands Prix) using either a 3G or wi-fi data connection. The application covers the practice sessions, qualifying session and the race itself at each Grand Prix event. The track positioning part of the application shows the location of each car on a virtual birds-eye view map of the circuit or focus on the location of a particular driver on a 3D circuit map. The developer claims the car positions are accurate to around 200 yards depending on the circuit. The timing part of the application uses the same timing data feeds generated at Formula One race events that are used by the race teams at the venue, to provide timing information to the user. This includes general session and race positions and times, more in-depth timing information for each individual driver such as his fastest lap, weather information and track status. Additional information such as driver biographies and championship standings are also available through the application. As well as the ability to follow a race live, the information from a previously held event can be replayed as-live.
