Fordham University's involvement in business started early in the 20th century with the founding of the undergraduate College of Business in 1920. The Graduate School of Business opened in 1969 as part of the redevelopment of Lincoln Center. According to BusinessWeek

In the 2011 US News & World Report Specialty Rankings, Fordham’s Finance MBA was ranked 14th in the nation, its Marketing MBA ranked 23rd, and its Part-time MBA program ranked 50th.

In the 2010 US News & World Report Specialty Rankings, Fordham’s Finance MBA was ranked 21st in the nation, its Marketing MBA ranked 23rd, Part-time MBA program ranked 30th, and its executive MBA (EMBA) program ranked 25th nationally.

In 2009, BusinessWeek ranks Fordham MBA 5th in the Northeast & 55th nationally.

In 2010, CEO Magazine has ranked Fordham in the Top Tier (Top 25) for the Executive MBA (EMBA) program in the North America / Global EMBA Rankings. In 2008, The Wall Street Journal ranked Fordham Executive MBA in Top 30.

The Graduate School of Business is also part of a consortium offering an MBA at Peking University in Beijing, China. This program, known as BiMBA (Beijing international MBA), is listed by Forbes Magazine as one of the most valuable Chinese programs.

Within the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, concentrations are offered in Accounting, Communications and Media Management, Finance and Business Economics, Information Systems, Management Systems, Marketing, Public Accounting and Taxation/Accounting (MTA Program).

Within the Master of Science (MS) programs, degrees are awarded in Communications and Media Management, Information Systems, Taxation, Accounting, and Quantitative Finance.
