Football at the 2012 Pekan Olahraga Nasional
is scheduled to be held in Pekanbaru
and several other cities in the Riau, in July. Associations affiliated with PSSI
are invited to send their men's U-23 teams to participate. 276 footballers are expected to compete for two sets of gold medals.
For these games, the men will compete in a 12-team tournament. Football preliminaries will actually commence two days before the Opening Ceremony of the Games on September 7.
