. Garrison attempts to take Mr. Slave back, only to learn that he is now in a relationship with Big Gay Al and that they are going to get married as soon as the governor of Colorado legalizes such unions. Mrs. Garrison dedicates herself to doing whatever she can to prevent their union from being legalized, hoping that, being unable to marry Al, Mr. Slave will then marry her. The governor demands a study demonstrating that gay families are unstable before agreeing to veto the marriage bill. Mrs. Garrison thus reorganizes Stan, Kyle, Wendy and Bebe into same-sex couples, hoping that Stan's poor "parenting" skills will destroy the egg and provide the results the governor needs.

Wendy becomes upset because Stan and Kyle now have the egg that originally belonged to her and Kyle. The boys remain on bad terms; Stan is still suspicious about Kyle's motives with Wendy and frequently snaps at him, while Kyle is a little confused as to what has made Stan so aggressive. Meanwhile, Cartman

law to be vetoed, she gives Cartman a new egg. Garrison makes plans for the final egg check in front of the governor's office, and, to make sure Stan and Kyle's egg is broken when they present it, hires an assassin named Jakartha to destroy the egg. Just as Stan is boasting to Kyle over the phone about how well he has looked after the egg, Jakartha fires a bullet through Stan's window. The bullet hits the egg and blows it to pieces in Stan's hand.

Kyle comes over to Stan's house and Stan tells him to enjoy a relationship with Wendy, but Kyle admits that he feared Stan's ability as a parent and so gave Stan a fake egg while he kept and saved the real one. Kyle also tells Stan that he had no interest in Wendy; he merely views her as a partner. The two boys reconcile and rush to the governor's office in a taxi, with Kyle calling Mrs. Garrison and telling her their egg is fine and that they are on their way. Garrison orders Jakartha to destroy the egg before it reaches the podium. Jakartha, fearing for his reputation, opens fire on the crowd to destroy the egg. Stan and Kyle rush through the crowd, narrowly avoiding Jakartha's gunfire and hidden grenade

s in the ground. After Jakartha detonates all the bombs, they reach the podium weary and hurt. Stan presents the intact egg to Garrison and the governor before passing out from exhaustion. The governor inspects the egg and, upon seeing that it is undamaged, announces that same-sex marriage is now legal in Colorado.

The episode concludes with Mr. Slave and Big Gay Al marrying in matching wedding dresses with Father Maxi officiating. Randy congratulates Stan and Kyle for what they have done for same-sex marriage rights, though they are still not sure what role they played in it. Wendy tells Stan that she was impressed by his parenting skills, but Stan responds by saying, "Like I give a crap about what you think, Wendy." and Wendy walks away.
