History

First Bus inherited the Bristol operations from its predecessor Badgerline Ltd when the group was formed. Badgerline had acquired the old Bristol Omnibus Company

In 2003 First Group changed the legal structure of some of its bus operating subsidiaries, and as a result, First Bristol Buses Ltd (the entity which had been Bristol Omnibus Company) became First Bristol Ltd, and the legal entity which had been Badgerline Ltd became First Somerset & Avon
