The band first came to the attention of Bright Star Recordings when a mutual friend took a copy of an early track to Belfast's music guru, Johnny Davis.
The band was subsequently booked for several gigs. One was on "Sessions of The Nation" on Radio Ulster.

F.U.E.L. recorded a four-track session at Windmill Lane Studios

In March 2001, F.U.E.L.'s first and only release, "Closure/Dryform" was released on Bright Star Recordings. It was a double A-side single with the songs "Closure" and "Dryform". Towards the end of their career, drummer Pete left the band and was replaced by Ian McMillan and Dave's brother Herb also joined on keyboards. This lineup played a few shows, but soon afterwards the band split up.

In 2005, the band reformed for a special, one-off gig at the Bangor

 youth outreach event, BTC Presents, held in 1st Bangor Presbyterian Church, where Aaron Ditty is now the youth pastor. Nathan was not present at the event and was replaced by guitarist Herb Magee.

Dave Magee went on to play in local heroes The Debonaires until their split in 2006. He was also a member of the short lived Paper Planes with his brother Herb.

Herb Magee also played in The Debonaires but left to join Derry band Fighting With Wire in 2004. Both brothers subsequently joined the Belfast alt-rock band Lafaro

Peter Comfort now drums with the outreach band Bluetree and teaches drums around the Belfast and Bangor area.
