Character overview

Ferroq serves as a butler and henchman for the film's villain, Count Armand. For the most part he is a silent man who only speaks when necessary, and is always ready for a fight, armed with a switchblade of unique design: two elegant, overlapping crescent blades, sharp enough to gut a man with ease. The novelization of the film by Scott Ciencin characterizes him as a violent sadist who "has the desire to "take one's blade and unzip another person from throat to groin". As a younger man, he was attacked by a group of three knife-wielding thugs, and the Count, also young at the time, had intervened and risked a stabbing to save Ferroq's life. Armand had given him the choice to either work for him or live a life on the filthy streets of back-alley Paris

. Armand believes Ferroq is forever destined to call him "master", because, after looking back into the de la Fere history books, he finds references to Ferroq's ancestors, who had served his for generations.

In the film

Unlike Count Armand, Ferroq spends most of his time lurking behind the scenes, but he attends to his master's every whim when needed. After Elena de la Vega 's true identity is discovered, Ferroq makes sure that all possible means of escape are covered. He is the one who actually uncovers the plot, by following the pigeon Elena sends to the Pinkertons. He kills the pigeon and brings the bodies of the Pinkertons back to prove his point, plotting with Armand to trap Alejandro's ex-wife. He then escorts her onto Armand's train, while Jacob MicGivens takes care of Zorro. When Zorro escapes death and boards the train as well, Armand commands Ferroq to kill Elena and her son while he takes care of the intruder.

Ferroq pursues Elena and her son to the end of the train, but Zorro's son escapes with Elena's help. Elena then goes back into the train only to face Ferroq. Following a fierce duel in which Elene holds her own with the skilled assassin, Ferroq pulls a metal chain with a spike ball out of his coat pocket, and then tries to kill her with that instead. After Ferroq recovers his deadly switchblade, Elena gets the upper hand. She takes a bottle of nitro glycerine and holds him at bay with it. She then kicks him in the chest, stuffs the bottle into his pants, and knocks him out of the train. Ferroq lands in a circle of Confederate
