. The school's classes are mixed, which means that both Year 7's and Year 8's are included in one class. Although not the official motto, the phrase used most frequently to encapsulate the ethos of the school is "High Expectations for All".

History

Fergusson Intermediate was opened in 1966 by Sir Bernard Fergusson

Syndicates

The school is divided into 3 syndicates. In 2011 classrooms 1, 2 & 3 make up Syndicate A; rooms 4, 5, & 6 make up Syndicate B; and rooms 7, 8, 9 & 10 make up Syndicate C.

Building Work

At the moment, the school is in the midst of a large building project, rebuilding all the classrooms, tech rooms, and library. The first new block of classrooms (rooms 7-10) has been in use since Feb 2011. The remaining classroom blocks are due to be finished and in use by September 2011.
