Ferdinand Barbedienne

Ferdinand Barbedienne was a French metalworker and manufacturer, who was well-known as a bronze founder, and who invented a machine to create miniature bronze replicas of statues.

Albert Susse conidered him the "pride of the nation" and he "carried the splendor of our industry so loftily to all international competitions".

He is referenced in the play "No Exit" by Jean-Paul Sartre.
