Farmington Public Schools is a public school district located in southeastern Michigan

. The school district serves more than 12,000 students from Farmington Hills
, Farmington
, and a portion of West Bloomfield. The district is led by superintendent Susan Zurvalec, who succeeded longtime superintendent Robert Maxfield in 2005. The district has achieved many awards over the years and is often one of the most acclaimed public school districts in the Metropolitan Detroit Area
. The district has over 2,000 employees, making it one of the largest employers in the Farmington-Farmington Hills area.
There are also two Early Childhood Centers: Alameda Early Childhood Center and Farmington Community School Early Childhood Center. Both centers are NAEYC accredited and are the only early childhood centers in the Farmington/Farmington Hills community that hold this distinction. Satellite preschool programs are located at Eagle, Hillside and Wood Creek elementary schools. William Grace, Wooddale, Flanders and Eagle elementaries were shuttered as of the 2010-2011 school year. The closed schools will be sold to real estate developers who will use the schools and land to their discretion.
Farmington Public Schools students are tested through various approaches to measure student achievement. Standardized test include the MEAP (Michigan Educational Assessment Program) and nationally the ACT.
