FM 2393 is a two-lane road for its entire length. The route begins to the north of Lake Arrowhead and Lake Arrowhead State Park at an intersection with . History

FM 2393 was designated in 1957, connecting Dean to Jolly. The northern extension from Dean to Thornberry was designated in 1967, replacing . The southern section from Jolly to FM 1954 was added to the state highway system in 1973.
