Abushwesha is the founding member of the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum which takes place at BAFTA London Head Quarters twice yearly and in the regions including Belfast and Nottingham. The forums celebrated 10 years of their existence this year and are supported by many industry organisations and individuals including Variety, Debra Hayward (Working Title), Mike Newell, Richard Eyre, David Parfitt and John Madden who are all patrons. It has featured the early work of many up and coming screenwriters including James Dormer, Jack Thorne, Claire Wilson, Blaine Brothers and Josh Appignanesi.

Abushwesha has been selected by BAFTA as a new talent to watch, featuring in the October 2006 Bafta Academy Magazine. She is currently developing several feature film ideas based on original ideas and her father, Redhwan Abushwesha's, short stories.
