Construction was originally set to begin in 2012 but was moved up to April 1, 2009. The line opened on December 30, 2010, but will remain unconnected to the rest of the subway network until Line 9 is completed by the end of 2011.

Route

The Suzhou Dajie station is located at the intersection of Changhong Xi Lu and Suzhuang Dajie in the Liangxiangcheng section of Fangshan. The line makes several stops in Liangxiangcheng including the Fangshan Campus of the Beijing Institute of Technology
