. The district consists of two schools: Benjamin Cosor Elementary and Fallsburg Jr/Sr High School. The elementary school is K-6 and the high school is 7-12.

Theft from Teachers Union Bonnie Ascolese a former consulting teacher and treasurer of the union was accused, arrested and proved guilty of stealing $23,000 from the unions account. Ascolese used forged checks and her ability as treasurer as her means of stealing the money. She was released on a $10,000 personal bail on August 10th 2010.

Hiring of Sex Offender Julius B. Anthony a convicted child molester was hired to work for the School districts elementary school as a consultant from January 2004 to May 2005, with a pay of $10000 a month. As a consultant Anthony had office space in the elementary school from February to November of 2004. The superintendent at the time Walter Milton Jr. pushed the school board to hire Anthony's consultant firm Gateway learning with a no bid contract. The board in turn approved this no bid contract. Anthony no longer works for the school district and left the area at the same time as the form superintendent Milton left. Anthony was later charged again for child abuse when he failed to re register as a child molester in his new location.

Superintendent overpayment Former superintendent of the school district Walter Milton Jr. was hired and approved by the school board for a tenure position from July 2003 to September 2005. Under this position Milton was over paid $44,457 for an array of different expenses such as unused vacation time, moving expenses, movie rentals and other personal expenditures. The head of the school board at the time Robert Scheinman approved of $14,182 to be give to Milton instead of going through the payroll clerk as is the normal procedure. Milton also approved of $5,658 to be given to consultant Julius B. Anthony, $5000 of which purchases couldn't be found by auditors.
