Fairfield Country Day School (FCDS) is a private, single-sex day school in Fairfield, Connecticut
. Founded in 1936 by Laurence W. Gregory, the school has since its inception admitted only boys. In 2009 it was revealed that the school received at least some money from the AIG bonus payments controversy

History is of particular interest to the school, and such social science classes begin in grade four. In grade eight, students study Physical Science, and in Grade 9, Biology. History studies begin with an approach to Mesopotamia and conclude with Vietnam and present-day affairs. English is a main part of a student's work load as typically a class reads three books a year. From grades six to nine a trimester devoted to grammar. The mathematics curriculum includes Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Honors Geometry.
Select students' art work is displayed all year. Upper-school students can join a string ensemble, a cappella
group, or a bell choir. During the fall upper-school students can take part in a One-Act Play. During the late winter and early spring every year the 7-9 grade students can participate in a full-length Broadway musical. Recent productions have included South Pacific, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Beauty and the Beast, Seussical, and The Music Man . The Arts are a large part of school life for FCDS boys.

Curriculum
Fairfield Country Day School is broken down into two distinct student bodies: a lower school and an upper school. The former is defined as all students in grades K-4 and the latter as those in grades 5-9. The lower school makes up about half of the student body, and each student is expected to attain mastery over basic mathematical concepts and engage in discussion of books and other topics. In upper school, the student's responsibilities are expanded. Music and Art class are required aspects of a boy's day. Fairfield Country Day has required art and music classes in all grades. All boys in grades K-6 are required to participate in a choral group. Languages
From Kindergarten on to fourth grade, students are required to study basic Spanish concepts. In grades five and six, students begin a basic study of Latin along with a continuation of Spanish. In seventh grade, currently students are able to choose between French, Spanish, and Latin – and whichever language a student chooses, he is expected to continue that language until he graduates.Sports
