FC Karpaty-2 Lviv

FC Karpaty-2 Lviv is the 3rd squad of the FC Karpaty Lviv
. It is considered their junior squad with most of the players under 20 years of age.
Originally, when Karpaty-2 entered the Professional League in 1997–98 they were the 2nd or Reserve squad. In 2001, the senior club took over FC Lviv
, another club in the city of Lviv
and merged them into FC Karpaty-2 Lviv, while FC Karpaty Lviv
introduced another its team, FC Karpaty-3 Lviv, which continued competing in the Druha Liha
between 2001–2004.
At the end of 2003–04 season Karpaty Lviv were relegated which automatically caused its other two teams to move down the championship leagues. Coincidentally the Premier League introduced the double competition parallel to its league for 2004–05 season. Since returning to the Premiers for 2006–07 Karpaty introduced its own Reserve team in the double championship, while keeping their second team in the Second League, thus reestablishing their third squad.
