. It was founded on October 28, 1993, after a merger between the football clubs Djerv 1919 and SK Haugar. FK Haugesund played in Tippeligaen in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2010 and in 2011. In 2007, FK Haugesund reached the Norwegian cup final, where they lost 0-2 to Lillestrøm SK. They got promoted back to Tippeligaen by winning Adeccoligaen 2009.
