On November 4, 2008 voters approved a $149 million bond issue for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. A long list of projects includes a new $58.2 million high school for 2,000 students and an adjacent $27 million middle school for 1,000 students. The new high school will bear the name of the high school it replaces, North High School (which will be sold after the completion of the new school). It will also retain the Huskies mascot.

Superintendent's Office
  • The current superintendent is Dr. Vincent Bertram. He started the job on July 1, 2007. He has added new positions to the school corporation to create the capacity to carry out the Strategic Plan with a core focus of Student Success. The Core Focus initiatives to support the goal include: Early Childhood Education; Professional Development; Technology; Innovative School Models and Family, School and Community Partnerships.


Chief of Staff
  • Rudy Montejano is the corporation's Chief of Staff. As such he is the second in charge in the absence of the superintendent and heads up the development areas; safety and security; and legal matters.


Associate Superintendent
