(EMA) under Japanese rule. Both men and women are eligible to contest this title. It was established in 2008 and has since then taken place on two yearly basis.

History

On June 21, 2008, the first European riichi mahjong championship was held in Hannover, Germany for 2 days. Thomas Kragh from Denmark

On July 10, 2010, the second riichi championship was held in Hannover, Germany again
