European Drift Championship

The Pirelli
European Drift Championship (abbreviated as EDC) is a drifting
series held each year throughout the United Kingdom
. It was introduced in 2007 following the collapse of the D1 Great Britain
series which in turn replaced the Autoglym
Drift Championship. The series is run on its third year as part of the GT Battle motorsport events which includes its national Time Attack
championship.
2008 saw the introduction of a new [Pro-Am] series, 'The British Drift Championship' (BDC), The British Drift Championship. In 2009 the BDC and EDC partnership ended and now the BDC is considered a professional series.
In 2010 the championship organisers made the controversial move to change from a Top 16 to a Top 8 invitational format. The championship features 8 drivers who are all sponsored by Pirelli Tires.
